Foothill Unity Center
Foothill Unity Center, Inc., is a multi-service agency that is the primary provider of food, shelter, transportation, referrals, and a variety of health services to individuals and families in our community living at or below 150% of the national poverty line. The Center has a service area that spans the Foothill communities of Pasadena, Altadena, South Pasadena, Sierra Madre, Arcadia,
Monrovia, Bradbury and Duarte. More recently, however, the Center expanded its programs to include Azusa, Baldwin Park and Irwindale due to the poor economy and a lack services in those areas. During the last four years the Center has seen its client-base more than double, from 1,371 unduplicated families in 2007, to 4,302 unduplicated families in 2011, as a result of the current economic downturn. Indeed, last year the Center furnished a total of 59,537 client services, including 35,454 food orders to 12,117 unduplicated individuals.
